ABOUT …

Commercial photography and fine art practice rooted in design, sense of place, and visual storytelling.

Maha Bazzari is a photographer and multidisciplinary artist based in San Diego. With a background in architectural design, she creates architectural, interior, portrait, and select commercial imagery shaped by a deep understanding of space, material, light, and structure.

Before founding studio MAHA, Maha spent nearly a decade working in architecture and design environments, including roles at firms such as HOK, MacCracken Robinson Architects, and Carrier Johnson + CULTURE. That experience continues to inform the way she sees and photographs the built environment, with attention to spatial flow, composition, detail, and the relationship between form and presence.

Over the years, she has photographed work for designers, architects, institutions, brands, and organizations including the San Diego Architectural Foundation, IIDA, CREW, Gensler, and Ware Malcomb. Her work has appeared in publications including The Wall Street Journal, Dwell, Atomic Ranch, National Geographic, and the San Diego Business Journal. She is known for creating images that are both visually refined and highly functional, photographs that communicate design intent, elevate presentation, and support marketing, editorial, advertising, and fine art placement needs.

Alongside her commercial photography practice, Maha maintains an active fine art studio practice spanning painting, photography, mixed media, and sculpture. Her exhibitions include Sacred Architecture and Space Maker with La Jolla Historical Society, Light Made Visible at The 3rd Space, and selected group exhibitions in San Diego. She recently completed a 260-piece permanent art placement commission for Sharp HealthCare.

Whether documenting architecture, creating portraits, producing visual content for brands, or developing artwork in the studio, Maha brings the same qualities to every project: clarity, sensitivity, strong visual instinct, and close attention to detail. Her work is grounded in collaboration and shaped by the belief that images can do more than document, they can reveal character, context, and presence.
